| Fig: Tibt’s Highest and Biggest Lake-Namtsho Roshan’s Friend Projects and Our schools in remote areas We at highlander are well aware of the impact trekking has on the rural areas as well as in the established routes. Therefore, we have committed ourselves to giving back to the communities. We have a Roshan’s Friend project which was founded by Mr.Lars Jensen (Sherpa) who have dreamed of helping the Himalayas under privilege people. Our pilot project is now working in Chepang Gaun (Village) in Chitwan, home of some of the fabled Chepangs who are one of the most disadvantaged communities in Nepal. So by using Highlander as your trekking agent you will also help those in need, the children in these remote areas you see on your treks. All the schools are situated a long our trekking routes and it is then easy for us to follow how the schools, teachers and students are doing. In addition Roshan’s friend project is planning to help in one of the world’s remotest and most impoverished areas of human habitation – Humla, which lies on the way to Mt.Kailash from Simikot. |
