CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK

Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal and is listed in UNESCO world heritage site. Chitwan National Park lies in Terai region of Nepal in Nawalparasi, Parsa, Chitwan and Makwanpur districts. Chitwan National Park lies 175 km South-West from the capital city, Kathmandu. It is one of the best habitat for wildlife. It helps to protect many wildlife and endangered species too. Not only wildlife, Chitwan National Park is also famous for varieties of flora and fauna. It is a rich natural area in the terai, the subtropical southern part of Nepal.

There are many things to explore in Chitwan National Park. Chitwan national park is richly blessed with endangered wildlife and flora and fauna. In Chitwan national park, you can see varieties of wildlife like one-horned endangered rhino, elephants, sloth bear, deer, tiger, wild boar and many more. You can have an Elephant ride in Chitwan National Park which takes you around the national park. Not only the ride but you can also enjoy an elephant shower. In Chitwan, you can also see the rhino roaming around freely in the streets, if you are lucky.

You can also view varieties of birds in the national park. Inside the Chitwan National Park, there are numerous lakes and ponds. And the main attraction among them is Bishazar taal. The word "Bis" means Twenty and "Hazar" means thousand, which combined means twenty thousand. However, it is not twenty thousand lakes, it is one large Oxbow lake. This pond is not only an attraction for visitors but also the habitat of different birds. Here, you can see a number of different rare birds which you may not find in other parts of the world. This is the habitat of domestic as well as migrant bird. Some of the bird found here are Bengal florican, Kashmir flycatcher, vulture species, Grey-crowned pirina and many more.

Chitwan National park is also home for varieties of endangered plants. Mainly, this place is perfect for the birds lover and for those who want to see and research on new plants. Grassland have cover the 20% of the national park. There are almost 50 different grass in the national park including elephant grass too.

JUNGLE SAFARI IN CHITWAN
